Maria Shcherbakova, BS
Maria Shcherbakova is a Research and Development Engineer at the Starr Lab. Originally from Luxembourg, she earned her bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Applied Neuromechanics from Stanford University in June 2021 and joined the lab the following fall. Maria combines the roles of software engineer to support the Lab's state-of-the-art applications to enable researchers, clinicians and patients to interact with the Summit RC+S implantable device, and research assistant to help in the development of custom closed-loop DBS algorithms for several patients. Maria is currently preparing for her medical school application and is looking to pursue a career in neurosurgery. In addition to neuroscience and neuropathology, Maria's research interests include sports biomechanics and movement analysis.
